Volunteers
Becoming a Read Now TutorOur volunteer adult literacy tutors are dedicated to the idea that helping others overcome reading problems is a calling. They do this by using the Read Now literacy methodology, which helps the student to develop the silent reading skill. Tutors work one on one with students in person at various branches of the Austin Public Library or by phone. They keep records of each students’ progress and abide by the Read Now Volunteer Tutor Code of Conduct. Volunteers receive free training and supervision from Read Now. If you believe that you have a calling to pursue this service to others, please consider volunteering with us.
Read Now is dependent on Volunteer tutors to serve our client base. The effectiveness of our methodology changes lives and is a very satisfying volunteer experience. If you are interested in becoming a Read Now volunteer tutor, please complete and submit the Volunteer Tutor Application form below.
